Stress Management

Stress must be managed, or it will get the best of a person.  Many people live and/or work in high stress situations that constantly eat at their health and happiness. Often, stress can be avoided by making better decisions.  When it can’t be avoided, one must take it on face to face. You can be coached into taking a positive, assertive and insistent attitude that will make managing stress much easier. 

As a coach, we will begin our management by assessing where we can eliminate, avoid and delegate ALL stressful areas without compromising your character, credibility or responsibilities.  As a matter of fact, many people assume unnecessary stress through work that serves their personal welfare in no way, shape or form – in other words, ALL money is NOT good money!   Perspective from a coach will help you realize the price you pay and the freedom you can obtain by readjusting in the workforce.  How many people do you know that are employed in what is called a “Dead End Job”?  They finally take that leap into management where they gain a gross increase of $1.00 an hour, but in the weeks to come they suffer burnout due to all the extra stress.

Family Dysfunction

Dysfunctional families have finally been received on Main Street America.  Today, Hollywood and the rest of the entertainment industry are reaping in the cash as they capitalize on reality TV featuring dysfunctional homes of every sort.  Family dysfunction is VERY real; it is a blight on society, often resulting in humiliation and depression.  Domestic chaos is fixable if there is a desire to change. 

Coaching starts with a third party unbiased view of the home.  Next the coach will assess the home and find common ground to restore order through teamwork.  Then, families will be presented with real measures that will bring solidarity.  Dysfunction in a home must incorporate equal respect for every person of the household while establishing roles and responsibilities to insure against false expectations.

Dysfunction in the home is malignant.  Dysfunction if left untreated will slowly rot away at the foundation of your home.  Your home is your nest.  Life in your home should be peaceful and filled with love and laughter -- not yelling, fighting, defiant behavior, and insubordinate children.  If home is a place you dread you need REAL help.

Finances

Ever heard the saying, “I can’t see the forest because of all the trees”?  Many people will never get a handle on their finances alone.  The only thing worse than an individual that can’t resolve their financial issues, is a family that is drowning in debt and living every day in world of financial chaos.  Speaking of the “forest” a good coach can take a look into the whole forest (instead of aimlessly meandering from tree to tree) and see solutions - solutions that will restore dignity and a sense of freedom.   

Often a painter has to remove himself from the painting; or his vision becomes obscured, and he can lose focus.   Taking a break and backing away from the painting can reveal mistakes and imperfections.  Are you ready for a break from the toil and despair of financial chaos?  Coaching will put you back in the driver’s seat where you can take control of your own destiny.  Are you ready to regain perspective and power over your finances?

Spiritual Growth

Recognition and adherence to the Gospel is the bedrock of a spiritual journey that will fulfill every aspect of your life.  As a pastor and life coach I teach and counsel many people each week about the fulfillment of love, simplicity of life, and the productivity at home and the workplace one can enjoy by embracing their whole self – Body, Soul and Spirit.  I am adamant that real change, real peace, and total fulfillment only come through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 

Unfortunately, many people as well as churches turn good people off by asserting dogma that is counterproductive, unrealistic, and based in traditions that have no merit.  As a pastor, I have enjoyed being instrumental in seeing many people experience total spiritual fulfillment.

To experience spiritual fulfillment I will coach an individual into making an assessment of their spiritual condition.  Then through application of Scripture, daily self-examination, and development of a prayer life one will began to unlock doors that lead to a life of extraordinary adventure and peace of mind -- not to mention Eternal Life upon a confession of faith!  Top of page

Management Skills

Having owned as well as managed various businesses and churches, I have developed many strategies to settling conflict, stream lining paperwork and work flow, increasing personnel productivity and operating inside budgets all while keeping management and personnel happy and productive.  Increasing the profit margin with minimum risk, reduced liabilities and increased productivity is generally the ultimate job description of management. 

How much should a company invest in its employees in order to keep them happy?   How do you stop a revolving door of employment?  Where do you draw the line on an employee’s plummeting performance and your anxieties over replacing them -- in other words, you can’t afford to keep them: but you feel you can’t afford to terminate them either?  In Management you are faced with BIG decisions that can easily affect your bottom line.  Then there are always the potential legal and ethical issues that are only one poor decision away. 

As your coach I will give you sound advice and proven solutions while striving for a healthy profit margin.  Management is an eternal evolution of change; those that are not willing to roll with change will NOT prosper nor survive in today’s volatile market.  Progressive strategies with yesterday’s values are the answers to thriving in management.

Business  & Entrepreneurial Vision

It takes a special kind of person to step out from the crowd and move forward with their dreams and aspirations.  This journey is often lonely and filled with potholes and crossroads every mile traveled.  I have always lived with an entrepreneurial spirit even as a small child.  Vision is absolutely necessary to experience your potential as a business owner.  There are plenty of sharks in the water to steal your dreams and your money.  

I have years of experience owning and operating a six figure business in the Medicaid and private care giving field.  During the course of Gulf Coast Health and Human Services, I employed many skilled and unskilled employees and management personnel.  During the peak of business I had twenty eight staff providing various Medicaid and private services.

During the life of GCHHS, I was able to establish a regional association of business professionals working in the same field.  I served as an advocate for persons with developmental disabilities lobbying for their rights and often traveling to the Florida state capital to meet with politicians as well as to testify in State House and Senate chambers. 

One of the greatest opportunities I experienced was to see a difference in the lives of those we served as well as helping many individuals open their own successful business.  I assisted many entrepreneurs in streamlining their business and optimizing the necessary documentation that had to be filed with the State. 

At every corner were moral, legal and personal liabilities that had to be considered and/or aggressively handled.   Vision, hard work, properly trained personnel and a balance of capital to invest and save will secure a promising future.  I built a business from the ground up, one client at a time.  I can help you plan and set goals to succeed in your business as well. 

The business owner has a lot of responsibilities to shoulder.  Accounting, incorporating, expanding and juggling work hours with time with family and friends are just a few of the initial hurdles of growing a business.  Will you hire employees?  Should you use a staffing agency?  What kind of benefit package can you offer employees?  What are the advantages of operating out of your home or looking into a storefront?  How do you establish credit as an owner; or will you work as an employee of your business to keep good credit? 

There are many decisions that must be made.  There are many directions you can take your dream.  But what decisions will ultimately fulfill your dreams and aspirations?  Setting goals are a must.  Staying on top of your market through education, workshops and associations play a key role in your success as well.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Overcoming substance addiction requires the admission that there is a problem and a heartfelt desire to overcome the addiction.  When admission and desire is present, then there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Through coaching, hope will no longer be the hearts cry of the addicted.  Deliverance, my friend, will be inevitable. 

Accountability will make the journey to deliverance easier than ever.  Knowing you have a coach to steer you on and a true patron to celebrate your victories with will bring real hope.  Through coaching, you will be reminded of priorities, you will be encouraged, and more than anything you will have someone that is marking every milestone and celebrating with you every inch of the way.

Marriage Counseling

With three out of five marriages ending in divorce, couples keeping it together are in the minority.  As a coach, I am committed to helping married couples rebuild their relationship from the foundation up.    If there is Love, or the willingness to love again, your relationship can be fully restored.  Finances, communication and sexual issues are the top three obstacles that are destroying marriages.  To make a marriage work all that is needed is two individuals that will commit to each other and be willing to work through their problems -- together.

A Coach is instrumental in identifying the solid issues that are causing the problem(s).  At some point both persons made a promise in front of witnesses to love one another through sickness and in health.  There was passion and determination to see your marriage blossom into a life filled with love, excitement and happiness!  As a coach I commit to assisting couples work out an unbiased strategy to resolving conflict and hopefully restoring that spark that led each one to commit to spending their lives together in matrimony.  Top of page

Disabilities

If you live long enough you will directly be affected by your own or a close loved ones disability.  Disabilities are inevitable from birth to the grave.  Denial, depression and disassociation are not the answers.  Disabilities require more love and care than ever before.  Perspective and education are keys to getting through the often relentless times of hurt, discouragement and even frustration. 

A coach will help you sharpen your vision and keep proper prospective of the realities that exist around one’s disability.  While poor choices can lead to many disabilities, the element of faith helps many people cope from day to day.  Perspective guarantees that when we discover that anyone can maintain purpose during their disability, the lie that life is over fades away and is replaced by a renewal of energy to search for purpose and to live again. 

Education keeps out all the hear-say, myths and anecdotal stories passed along.  A coach will actively help you pursue real understanding of a disability through educating yourself while maintaining hope through your faith.  Top of page
